Who are you running for? — Join in the fight against breast cancer by running a full or half marathon through Marathon for the Cure™
Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
A brand to trust — We are honored that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® ranked number one in a recent Harris Interactive poll as the most valued non-profit brand and the charity people are most likely to donate money to. Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
May 2009, was my first time participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure when I was asked by a friend to join their company team.
When I saw how large the event was and felt the spirit of love, hope, and joy - I knew I wanted to do more. In 2010, I was asked by a committee member to volunteer, which I LOVED! I also participated as a walker. As I became more involved, my passion for the spirit of hope and encouragement, and the thought that I could help make a difference inspired me to join the Sacramento Valley Affiliate 2011 Race Committee. Eventually I had to unfortunately withdrawal due to my pursuit of education. This, however, did not discourage my participation.
I formed a team to honor my Auntie Debbie who is now a breast cancer survivor (diagnosed August 2010) and also volunteered. Due to a knee injury, I wasn’t able to walk but meeting my family at the finish line and seeing them cross along with my Auntie Debbie, brought tears of joy and pride to my eyes.
This ignited the flame even more inside of me that we MUST do our parts to support the cure.
In 2012, I am proud to serve as a member of the Sacramento Valley Affiliate Race Committee, and as a captain for my team Tatas for Tevis. I am committed to doing all that I can to ROCK the RACE 2012 and even if I am only one person, I WILL spread the spirit of love, hope and joy and inspire others to get involved! With God, ALL things are possible so I believe that I can, WE can, make a difference.
My name is Letrice Littlejohn and I would definitely say that I have a passion for people. I'm one general ed class from my bachelor's in Sociology (Woop Woop - finally) and then I plan to pursue my Master's in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. My true happiness comes from serving God, helping others, spending time with my family, and of course Zumba (I'm a Zumbaholic!). I also enjoy shopping, singing, dancing, encouraging others, and of course socializing :) One interesting fact about me is that my birthday is on leap year (February 29,1984) so I will be 7 in 2012 :). Three goals I have for 2012 are: to complete a half marathon; to reach my goal weight (been on a lifestyle transformation since February 2011); and of course to ROCK THE RACE 2012!
