Vincent King Crushes Cancer with his Sculptures

The CRUSH CANCER sculpture, created by artist Vincent King, raised $3,000 at the 2012 Gala for the Cure, the most raised by a single bid that night.

Below you can see the piece installed on a beautiful pedestal designed by Kristi Hughes.

"The photo below shows my favorite moment, just after the mass is crushed away revealing the intact torso." -Vincent King

You can learn more about Vincent King, and his mission to CRUSH CANCER, in the video below produced by Jeremiah Mayhew.

The video documents Vincent's experience with cancer within his own life and family, the commissioning of the first CRUSH CANCER sculpture by Dennis Driver, and its beautiful unveiling at the 2012 Gala for the Cure.

We at the Sacramento Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, are deeply touched and honored by all those who have been involved with this project, and appreciate their efforts in supporting those affected by breast cancer everywhere.
