Ann joined the Komen Board of Directors in 2008. She's been an active member of the annual Race for the Cure Volunteer Committee since 2007, in a variety of capacities. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, with no previous incidence in her family, Ann generously shares her personal story and survivorship throughout the community and enthusiastically works to create a positive experience for other breast cancer survivors. After completing her radiation treatment, Yoshimoto contacted the Komen Sacramento Affiliate as "my way of giving back and to help in the efforts of finding a cure for breast cancer."

Born and raised in Southern California, Ann moved to the Sacramento area in the early 1980's and currently lives in Rocklin. Since 1991, Ann has worked as an Accounting Manager for Huntley, Mullaney, Spargo & Sullivan, a real estate financial consulting firm in Roseville. Ann has been chosen as Roseville's BMW's "Local Hero" as a result of her outstanding personal effort in the fight against breast cancer. In 2008, Ann was honored to have been selected as one of five local survivors to represent the "Faces for the Race" media campaign.

For 2009, she's stepped up to the position of Race for the Cure Co-Chair in which she has a pivotal role in planning and managing the Affiliate's signature fundraiser. In her previous role as Survivor Program Coordinator, Ann designed the annual Survivor Reception, an evening honoring over 200 local breast cancer survivors.

Ann's dream is that when her young niece, Mika grows up "that she will not have to worry about breast cancer because we have achieved our goal -- Life Without Breast Cancer."
