Ironman Triathlete Lynn Keane Raises Money to Fight Breast Cancer The Hawaii Ironman Triathlon takes place on the big Island of Hawaii the second Saturday of every October. Competitors in this World Championship of Triathlon have 17 hours to finish a 2.4-mile ocean swim, 112-mile bike race and 26.2-mile run. Lynn Keane has participated in the race several times in the past, but this year was different. In addition to facing the personal challenges presented by the task, Lynn ran to win the Janus Charity Challenge.
