Sacramento Valley Affiliate Grants over $1 Million to Local Organizations
The Komen Sacramento Affiliate is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2008/2009 grant program. Over $1 million will be granted to local organizations for early detection, education, and supportive services related to breast health.
The Greantee Reception was held this year at Northern California PET Imagaing Center, one of the most advanced cancer screening technology facilities in the nation, and a recipient of the Komen Affiliate's 2007 grants.
Congresswoman Matsui, a long-time Komen supporter presented checks to 17 local organizations in the Sacramento Valley area, offering breast health and breast cancer screening and education programs. "We are extremely pleased to fund these organizations and are looking forward to working with them over the next year," said Donna Sanderson, Executive Director of the Komen Sacramento Affiliate. "All of the grant recipients share Komen for the Cure's promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever."
