May 9, 2009 - Some ran for speed, others with teams, but all ran or walked at the 13th annual Susan G. Komen Sacramento Race for the Cure to help find the cure for breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of the net funds raised are dedicated to local breast health awareness, screening and support services, with a minimum of 25 percent of the remaining net income supporting breast cancer research. More than $1.8 million was raised in the half-day event.

Thousands of committed people throughout the Sacramento Valley and beyond show up each year on the day before Mother's Day for the Susan G. Komen Sacramento Race for the Cure®. They know personally, it's a race against time, with the lives of loved ones hanging in the balance. It may be that they all believe in Komen's quest and can "Imagine ... Life without Breast Cancer"
