Together we have made tremendous progress toward eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through research, education, screening and treatment. The generosity of our donors is vital as we continue our efforts to help breast cancer patients today, as well as to invest in the health of future generations.
The greater Sacramento area has historically been a very giving community. At the Komen Sacramento Affiliate, we are well aware of your generosity. Each year as we hold the Komen Sacramento Race for the Cure®, individual pledge collectors contribute more funds to the cause than any other source of revenue. And you give much more than financial contributions -- you give your time, talents, and energy to the fight against breast cancer.

Through events like the Komen Sacramento Race for the Cure, we have invested over $6.8 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in 17 Sacramento-area counties. Up to 75% of net proceeds generated by the Komen Sacramento Affiliate stay in the Sacramento area. The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program for energizing science to find the cures. When you give to the Komen, you don't just give money, you give hope.
As you know, breast cancer knows no season. Each year the need for additional funds grows.
