Fundraise

How many minutes does it take to save a life?
You can save a life in 15 minutes or less - write an email and send it to people who share your passion for bringing an end to breast cancer. Komen Sacramento is committed to winning the battle against a disease that impacts one in eight women, which is why fundraising is such a critical part of the Race for the Cure. Even the most shy among us can let email do the asking for you - it's this simple:

1. Build your personal page in your participant center - tell your story, share why ending breast cancer matters to you.
2. Set your personal goal - we suggest $225, that is the cost of a clinical breast exam and screening mammogram.
3. Invite friends to join your efforts - ask them to give what they feel is appropriate and affordable. Every dollar helps!
4. Read our e-blasts and visit our Race website often - we constantly update with tools to help you succeed!

Where Does The Money Go?
For every $225 that is raised, we could provide a clinical exam and a diagnostic mammogram. For every $225 raised we could be saving a life. Early detection is the key to survival. Up to seventy-five percent of net funds raised at the Race for the Cure provides breast health screenings, education, outreach and treatment support for women in our community. At least twenty-five percent of net income funds global breast cancer research to find the cures. Learn more.
